Kumbaro in Riyadh for World Tourism Day: Albania, host of “FESTA 2”, the International Tourism Convention

Speaking from Riyadh, where she is participating in the high-level meeting of ministers and world leaders of the tourism sector on the occasion of the World Tourism Day, Minister Mirela Kumbaro said that she is proud that Albania, thanks to tourist flows and international promotion, is globally recognised as a growing destination with a positive image.

Minister Kumbaro confirmed that next spring Albania will host the International Tourism Convention “FESTA 2”, with the participation of more than 40 ministers and high representatives of the sector, an event during which the European Commission meeting of the World Tourism Organization will also be held, for the first time in Albania.

“Albania is in the spotlight, not only for us Albanians, but as a small country with a positive model that the private and public sectors are jointly trying to achieve. Everyone welcomed the invitation to come here, about 40 Ministers of Tourism in what will be called “FESTA 2″, which will be held in Albania next spring. Albania is doing very well in tourism, first of all thanks to the Albanian people, the private sector, but also thanks to the government policies that we have been pursuing for ten years now, in terms of investment and of encouraging private investment alongside public investment,” said Minister. Kumbaro in a video message.

During her stay in Riyadh, at the conference organized by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), Minister Kumbaro had bilateral meetings with the Secretary General of this organisation, Zurab Pololikashvili, with the President of the World Tourism and Travel Organisation, as well as with the Ministers of Tourism of Turkey, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Israel’s Haim Katz, Croatia’s Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac, Jordan’s Tourism Minister Makram Mustafa Queisi and Malta’s Clayton Bartolo.
